Terry Gold
Terry Gold is the co-founder, CEO and President of Gold Systems, an independent software development company that creates self-service solutions powered by voice.
Terry came to Colorado in 1985 and worked as a contract software developer with AT&T Bell Laboratories, where he worked on AT&T's first computer telephony product, the ISDN Gateway which facilitated the 'screen pop' concept, now known as Computer Telephony Integration (CTI). He has over twenty years experience in business and software and serves on the Board of advisors for several local technology companies. He was a founding member of the Colorado chapter of the Young Entrepreneurs Organization and is currently a member of the Young President's Organization. In 2000 he and his co-founder were recognized with the 'Esprit Entrepreneur of Distinction' award, and in 2003 Terry was recognized as a finalist at the Rocky Mountain Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the Year Awards. He has a B.S. in Business Administration and an A.S. in Applied Computer Studies from Brescia College.
Gold Systems was named to the Inc. 500 Fastest Growing Private Companies in 1998. The company has also been named to the Deloitte & Touche Colorado Fast 50 every year for the last five years. In September 2000, Gold Systems received 'Best Local Employer' by Readers Choice Awards in Boulder County.
Bradley Feld
Brad has been an early stage investor and entrepreneur for over twenty years. Prior to co-founding Foundry Group, he co-founded Mobius Venture Capital and, prior to that, founded Intensity Ventures, a company that helped launch and operate software companies. Brad currently serves on the board of directors of Gnip, Oblong, and Zynga Game Network for Foundry Group. Previously, Brad served as chief technology officer of AmeriData Technologies.
In addition to his investing efforts, Brad has been active with several non-profit organizations and currently is chairman of the National Center for Women & Information Technology and co-chairman of the Colorado Governor's Innovation Council. Brad is a nationally recognized speaker on the topics of venture capital investing and entrepreneurship and writes widely read and well respected blogs at www.feld.com and www.askthevc.com. Brad holds Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees in Management Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
Tom Keller
Tom Keller has more than 20 years' experience in finance and high tech. As Managing Director of TechStars, Tom is responsible for the international expansion of TechStars' proven mentor-driven approach to putting startups on the fast track to success. Prior to TechStars, Tom founded and served as CEO for several companies, including IntenseDebate, which was acquired by WordPress, and Net Infrastructure, the world's first managed services provider.
Tom is also an active board member for Entrepreneurs' Foundation of Colorado, a non-profit organization which is committed to increasing entrepreneurs' philanthropy. Tom holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science degree from the University of Washington, and a Master of Science degree in Engineering-Economic Systems from Stanford University.
Lucinda Sanders
Lucinda Sanders is the co-founder for the National Center for Women and Information Technology and currently is Executive in Residence, Alliance for Technology, Learning and Society (ATLAS) with the University of Colorado.
Lucinda developed many years of industry and executive experience in the communications software business, with a broad knowledge base including CRM ebusiness solutions, call center technologies, multimedia communications etc. From May 1999 to August 2001, Lucinda was Vice President, Avaya Inc., CRM Solutions R&D and CTO. From August 1996 to May 1999 Lucinda served as Chief Technology Officer for Lucent Technologies Customer Care Solutions and from January 1995 to August 1996 she served as Department Head for Lucent Bell Labs R&D.
Lucinda has received numerous prestigious awards such as the Distinguished Engineering Alumni Award, Silicon Valley Tribute to Women in Industry, Partner of Choice, Trail Blazer, Touch Award and Bell Labs President's Silver Award. She also received the most prestigious Bell Labs award, which recognized her for technical excellence in software architectures, participation on teams creating first-to-market solutions for enterprise PBX systems, multimedia communication systems (including Voice over IP) and call centers.
Ms. Sanders has a M.S. in Computer Science from the University of Colorado, and a B.S. in Computer Science from Louisiana State University.
Ralph "Bud" Sorenson, Ph.D.
Ralph "Bud" Sorenson is general partner of the Sorenson Limited Partnership, which provides "angel" investing to start-up companies along the Colorado Front Range. In addition to Gold Systems, Sorenson is a board member of Polaroid, Whole Foods Market, Exabyte, Houghton Mifflin Company, Eaton Vance Corporation, netLibrary, and others. He is a professor emeritus at the University of Colorado, where he served as dean of the School of Business and Administration. A former president of Babson College, Sorenson was chief executive officer of the Barry Wright Corporation, a NYSE firm, and taught management for 13 years at the Harvard Business School where he earned his doctorate degree.
